What are two examples that came with the app?

The two example “slates” appear when you have no saved data. Use them to get an idea of how your data will look once you get started.
Once you save a new slate, they will go away.
If you delete all your own data, they will return.

What is a slate?

A slate is a list of patterns.

Like the following:

• Am 7
• Bm 7 b5
• E Dominant 7
• Am Scale

How do I delete a slate?

• From the home screen, choose “Edit”.
• Select the delete icon next to the item you wish to delete.
• Choose “Done” when you have no more edits to make.

How do I reorder the list of Slates?

• From the home screen, choose “Edit”.
• Drag the items up or down to where you want them.
• Choose “Done” when you have no more edits to make

How do I view a pattern? (scale or arpeggio)

• From the home screen, choose “New”.
• You will see a blank screen. An empty list. At the bottom choose “Add”.
• Choose a root note. Then choose “Select A Pattern”.
• Choose the chord or scale you would like to view. Your slate will now have one item in it.
• Choose “Visualize”. Put your device in landscape mode.

How do I make a new list of patterns (chords, scales)?

• From the home screen, choose “New”.
• You will see a blank screen. An empty list. At the bottom choose “Add”.
• Choose a root note. Then choose “Select A Pattern”.
• Choose the chord or scale you would like to view. Your slate will now have one item in it.
• Choose “Add” again, then add a new root and a new pattern. You will have two patterns.
• When you have all the patterns you want to add, choose “Visualize”.
• Put your device in landscape mode.

How do I copy a slate?

• From the home screen, select the slate you wish to copy.
• You will then be in the “Edit Mode”. Enter a new name and select “Save”.

How do I modify a saved slate?

• From the home screen, select the slate you wish to edit.
• You will then be in the “Edit Mode”. From there you can:
• Change the order of the items in the list by dragging the up or down.
• Delete a pattern by clicking on the “delete” icon.
• Add a pattern by clicking “Add”.
• Choose "Save" when you are satisfied with your changes.

How do I navigate the fretboard in “Visualization” mode?

• To see lower or higher on the neck, click on the <— (lower) or —> (higher) button.
• To see more frets, click on the <— —> button. 24 frets is the maximum.
• To see fewer frets, click on the —> <— button. 6 frets is the minimum.
• To move to the next pattern, (if you have 2 or more patterns in you slate), click on the button at the top right. It will show the name of the next pattern in the list.
• To move to the previous pattern, (again, assuming you have 2 or more patterns in your slate), click on the button at the top left. It will have the name of the pattern just before the current one on your list.
